  • Starting at the Picnic area go to the right and up the canyon.
Warning: A walking stick is highly recommended. On the way down the path is full of loose gravel and can be slippery. On the way up this is hardly a problem.
Reaching First Bench with a big sign, go further south to an overlook with an awesome view of Sedona.
First Bench is also the place where the Wilson Mountain trail south connects.
At First Bench it is possible go further up 1.0 Mile to a crossing (this was the last real climb) and go left for 0.4 Mile to the top at 7000 Feet. Or go right at the crossing another 1.4 Mile to a 6840 Feet top.
