Palm Springs: Pushawalla - Hidden Palms

Access All Cars, all paved. Take Interstate 10, Head to Cachella Valley Preserve on Thousand Palm Canyon Road in the city of Thousand Palms, park at the parking area (free) to the left, close to the visitor centre.

  • Expect no shade.
    Walking in the preserve is free. Start at the parking area and head in a southeasterly direction.
    Cross the road and follow the trail in the same direction. Follow the sign Pushawalla Palms.
    Close to the end at [H] head downhill into the canyon and head right until reaching Pushawalla Palms [J].
    Keep on going south until reaching a fence that prohibits cars to enter the canyon. Head along the right side of a dirt road.
    Just before point [L] leave the road to the right and at [L] make a sharp turn uphill (north). Keep going in this direction uphill.
    At a rim go left following the rim downhill (northwest). Hidden Palms can be seen to the right. At crossing [N] head right further downhill.
    At [O] head left (west) on a dirt road. The road bends south, but keep on going west in a sandy wash.
    Take a clearly visible trail uphill (north), until reaching a sign, the Hidden Palms Trail heading back to the parking. (northwest)
