Expect flat terrain, with rocky mountains around, with sandy washes, lots of Joshua Tees and Yucca's. No shade.

At the parking lot follow the clearly marked Boy Scout trail on a flat and wide trail.
At the marked crossing go right (north / northeasterly) to Willow Hole. On a wide and easy trail at point [4] there is a sign, head right out of the wash (east) and gradually more southeasterly.
Follow the wash until reaching Willow Hole.
