News: Vacation time.. So the response time may be a bit longer. I'm back September 12, Fred.    Due to the amount of Spam, tighter forum rules apply, please read the rules topic.

Wall clock rules:

Wallclock time rules can suspend and resume specific projects.

The Value is used for the time in 24 hour notation.
The Time value isn't used.
A Wallclock time > 16:00:00 and a Wallclock time < 23:59:59 will activate after 16:00 = 4 o'clock until 23:59:59 = midnight.
The rule will trigger, only once a day.

The rule must be applied on a single computer and a single project.

Warning:

The rule doesn't use a time interval, the first time the rule is "seen", triggers the rule.
A rule with a time before and after midnight will NOT work.

Because a rule like > 22:00:00  < 06:00:00 will only trigger when both rule entries are valid.
And these are never valid at the same time.

To solve this set a rule > 22:00:00 < 23:59:59 this rule will trigger at 22:01:00.
You may set another rule > 00:00:00 < 06:00:00 this rule will trigger at 00:01:00. This means the action like e.g. suspend will be applied twice. Not that this will be any problem on any projects I know of.

NOTE:  Remember that if you suspend one project while work download is enabled on all others, the BOINC client will tend to download too much work - especially with a high work buffer (Days Work) setting.  The client doesn't know when the suspended tasks will be available again, and "works around" them to keep the work buffer up.  Thus you may want to set all projects on the computer to "No new tasks" while a Wallclock Rule suspension is active.
